District Management //
As a Colorado Title 32 Special District, STCHSD is governed and managed by a duly elected volunteer Board of Directors.
The Board meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning at 6:00pm.
Meetings are held at the Cripple Creek Care Center, located at 700 N. 'A' Street in Cripple Creek.
The STCHSD Board has the responsibility for governance and management of its two operational Health Services divisions:
The Cripple Creek Care Center and the Southwest Teller County EMS.
Both divisions are directly managed by on-site Directors and Administrative staff.

Cripple Creek Care Center //
COWAN, MSM, LPN, NHA
Lawrence has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Newman University and a Master’s degree in healthcare administration from New England College and is a Licensed Practical Nurse. He has been in the healthcare field since 1987 and is a 4th generation healthcare provider.
He joined Cripple Creek Care Center as the Administrator in Novermber of 2016.
Southwest Teller EMS //
Eric Murray, a long time member of Southwest Teller EMS, was hired as the EMS Director for the District by the Board of Directors in July, 2019, after the retirement of Candy Shoemaker, who had served since the Service was established in 1992.
He is actively involved in many emergency planning efforts and responses throughout Teller County, the region, and at the State level.
